A fixture of the sprawling Kentucky Historical Society complex, the Military History Museum preserves and interprets the rich history of the state's militia, Guard, and other volunteer military groups. Various firearms and artillery lie on display, as well as flags, photographs, edged weapons, and other memorabilia. The museum occupies the historic Old State Arsenal building in downtown, overlooking the Kentucky River.
